Some Storms and Cooler Weather on the Way

Real-Time Bowling Green Weather Radar:

Today  – Mostly Sunny; Nearly Hot – High 84º / Tonight – Increasing Clouds; Cool – Low 62º

6am 62º – 9am 72º – 12am 80º – 3pm 83º – 6pm 80º

There is a small chance for an isolated shower early this morning across portions of central and south central Kentucky. However, many will stay dry as any chance for showers diminishes rather quickly. Today will be mostly sunny, but unfortunately it will also be the hottest day we have seen in a while. While high temps in the mid 80’s are not unbearable, it is about time they migrate to south for the Fall.

Sunday – 50% Chance Thunderstorm – High 82º / Sun Night – 50% Chance Thunderstorm – Low 64º

Tomorrow will bring a chance for showers and storms across the area. A cold front will swing through late tonight into early tomorrow morning, bringing a small chance for showers to Bowling Green. However, with low instability during the morning hours, decent precipitation will be hard to come by. Storms will start to re-develop during the afternoon, mainly south of the Ohio River. How far south the storms developvalong the cold front will help determine where decent storms can set-up and who may receive a nice soaking rain. Most of the storms will not be severe, but a small chance for an isolated severe storm is still possible.

The NAM shows redevelopment trying to occur around the Bowling Green area. Exact placement of the precipitation on the model is not incredibly important. The cold front moving through the area will act to clear the area of moisture and instability. If it swings through earlier than expected, storm development may occur further south. Likewise, a slower moving front may lead to re-development farther north of the area. Moisture along and ahead of the front is not to impressive, so the rain and any storms should be spotty in nature.

Monday – Mostly Sunny; Nice – High 73º / Mon Night – Mostly Clear; Chilly – Low 54º

The cold front moving through Sunday will bring northerly winds to the area, helping keep the high temps in the low 70’s for Monday. Good news? I think so too.
