Weekend Starts Dry, Ends with Showers

Outside of yesterday, it’s been a pretty perfect week to this point. Mostly sunny skies dominated the forecast and will continue to do so as the work week comes to a close. In short: the weekend starts dry, ends with showers.

Clearing Out for Friday

The clouds that stubbornly hung around during the day yesterday will be leaving the picture as high pressure begins to build in over the Ohio Valley behind a frontal boundary.

This means not only will we see the return of widespread sunshine, but our temperatures should get a nice boost as well.

High temperatures should top out near 60°, which is right about average for mid-to-late March. At the same time, however, it will be a touch breezy, with winds in the range of 5-15 MPH. Not the best hair day but still pretty good. Under those clear skies, lows dip close to about 30° overnight.

An Encore for Saturday

Things stay mostly the same as we head into the day Saturday, with sunny skies and temperatures near average.

Highs will get shaved a few degrees back to around 58°, but there’ll be so much sunshine that you’ll hardly notice the difference…which is still within the range of average.

Clouds will slowly increase tomorrow night ahead of our next weathermaker poised to make a move our direction for Sunday and Monday. Thus, the extra cloud cover will keep us a tad warmer overnight, closer to a low of 40°.

Showers Return to Start the Week

A weather system not unlike the one that moved through here this past Wednesday-Thursday will scoot closer to the area as we finish off the weekend. This means breezier, cloudier and warmer conditions.

Those breezes will be coming from the southwest, hence the warmer afternoon high temperatures around 64°. We should see scattered showers announcing their arrival in waves throughout the day, continuing into the nighttime hours.

Those showers…and maybe even a rumble of thunder…will continue through the day on Monday, which will be an altogether similar day with southwesterly breezes and highs near 60°. Showers will begin tapering off later into Monday evening. Lows overnight fall to around 35°.

A Glimpse Ahead

After the early week rain, next week will mirror the tranquility of the week gone by, with temperatures staying around average and skies staying mostly sunny.
