Good morning friends and Happy Friday! Hopefully, you are excited for the weekend and have some fun plans. The cold front has passed, so expect temperatures to fall today as showers exit our region.
Finally…Showers Move Out Today
The cold front that has brought all of this rain has finally passed over our region, and will continue to move off to the East.
Unfortunately, some isolated showers look to linger throughout this morning. The latest HRRR model shows showers exiting around noon today.
However, with the cold front passing, winds will now be out of the northwest, and will be quite breezy at times.
Hold on to your hats folks, winds look to be around 10-15 mph, and wind gusts up to 30 mph.
With these swift northwest winds, temperatures will be dropping throughout the day. High temperatures will be in the mid 40’s during the morning hours. Temperatures should be in the low 40s by lunchtime, and in the mid 30’s during the evening commute. As the sun sets, temperatures will drop to the low 30’s overnight. Clouds will hang around overnight, but we will remain dry.
Saturday Dry With Some Peaks of Sunshine
Tomorrow, High pressure will briefly cover our area, and will give us dry conditions, and partly cloudy skies. We should see some sunshine peak through the clouds, but the at least we will be dry.
Unlike today, winds will predominantly be out of the south tomorrow. Because of the southerly winds, temperatures will reach the upper 40s, making for a very nice Saturday.
Winds look to stay under 10 mph, so it will be a good day for any last minute outdoor Christmas decorations.
Saturday night looks to be calm and quiet as well. Skies will be partly cloudy, and temperatures will be in the mid 30s.
Slight Rain Chances Return on Sunday
Another cold front is expected to make its way across the Ohio Valley. With this, we could see some isolated showers. Depending on the timing, we could see some flurries, but no accumulation or impacts are expected.
The NAM 3km model currently hints at some isolated showers coming through Sunday morning.
High temperatures are expected to be in the upper 40’s, with lows dipping into the upper 20s. If these isolated showers happen, and come through early enough, we may be lucky and get some peaks of sun later in the day.
That wraps up today’s forecast. Hope you have a great Friday and weekend! Make sure to follow @wxornotBG on Facebook and Twitter for weather/forecast updates.
