Rain Today; Chilly Early Next Week

Conditions are nice and mild this morning with 6:30 AM temperatures running in the low to mid 50s. A warm, but wet day is on tap as a cold front is expected to move through the region this evening. Temperatures ahead of the front should top out around 60°. Southerly winds around 15 mph possible, with gusts up to 30 mph possible as well.

Chilly Sunday

Northwest flow will limit temperatures on Sunday to the upper 40s to low 50s, despite mostly sunny skies. The north wind will bring a bit of a chill to the air, so be sure to put on that sweater! We should dip back below freezing Sunday night and Monday morning.

Chillier Monday

Monday will be quite the raw day across the region. Clouds will increase throughout the day, which will limit high temperatures. Northwest winds will increase some at the surface, leaving us with highs right around 40°, which is not ideal. The GFS says we’ll see temperatures around 42° at 3 PM.

Conditions become a bit more winter-like overnight Monday and Tuesday morning as lows drop into the low 20s.

Looking Ahead

Some wintry mischief looks possible late next week. As of now, it looks like a rain to wintry mix to snow event may be possible Thursday into Friday. It’s a bit too soon to talk accumulations of any kind, but treat this as a “head’s up” that some wintry precipitation may be possible late week.
