Mild and Sunny Friday
We’ve managed to stay mostly dry for the last few days but it did remain quite chilly and we start this morning the same way. The fantastic news is that it won’t stay that way.
A low pressure system dragging a cold front will advance toward the region today, and while it’s too far away to bring us rain quite yet, we’re well behind the warm front and that means southerly wind flow will rule the day.
Skies will remain mostly sunny today but it will be a bit breezy at times. High temperatures look to approach the 60º mark this afternoon. As the sun sets, clouds will be on the increase as the system to our west lurches toward us. Lows only dip into the mid-40s and we can’t rule out a few showers near daybreak
Soaker of a Saturday
The cold front will begin to bear down on us during the day on Saturday with widespread scattered showers moving through during the daylight hours. Rain should begin to move in towards daybreak and stay with us during the day before exiting during the evening hours but some showers may linger into the overnight.
As for high temperatures, we’ll still be under the influence of southwesterly winds but it will be cloudy. They’ll remain mild, with highs in the mid-50s. Showers begin to taper at night but we’ll remain cloudy with a low in the low to mid-40s.
Drying Out And Beginning to Cool Down on Sunday
Rain should be on it’s way out early in the day on Sunday as the front sweeps through the area from west-to-east during the morning hours. However, the mild weather is going to hang tough for one more day.
Mainly because the colder air will be lagging behind the front for awhile, we won’t see it until the nighttime hours. So under clearing skies, we can expect highs to once again top the 50º but they’ll begin tumbling to near 30º under clear skies. A far cry from the mild weather of this week…gotta remember it’s still winter!
