It is graduation weekend for one of our very own! Congrats to Tori Schow, who has been writing for wxornotBG for quite sometime. Today, she officially becomes a meteorologist!
For those of you coming into town, or those that are already here for graduation in general, it looks awesome for graduation. I mean, today just looks beautiful!
We are on the backside of an exiting trough, and this is providing northwesterly flow in the mid levels of the atmosphere, and northerly flow at the surface. Expect this to keep temperatures cooler and clouds clear throughout the day.
Highs will be in the lower 70s, and with low moisture in the atmosphere, this will feel even better. This is perfect weather to celebrate graduation in! The best part about this weather is that it looks to stick around for tomorrow too.
The trough will continue to slowly exit, and will keep our flow out of the northwest, and this will help to keep skies clearer and temps nice. Highs will moderate tomorrow, though, looking to end up in the lower 80s.
Expect plenty of sunshine with that, as downward motion in the atmosphere will dominate in the northwesterly flow regime. Monday looks a bit different, but ultimately, it won’t change that much.
A ridge looks to build in on the heels of the eastward moving trough, and this will allow for the real warming to begin. Expect partly cloudy skies by the afternoon, with temps building up into the mid and upper 80s across the region.
Don’t worry too much, though. It won’t be that bad because dewpoints look to only hang around 60°F, which will keep it from feeling too much like mid-July.
