Yesterday’s weather was fairly nice. Things started on the chilly side, but temperatures ramped up rather quickly. The high temperature of 85° was set at 2:30 PM. This was just one degree shy of a record and 18° above normal! What fall?

Forecast Discussion

Boring weather to continue for forever. As a person, I really enjoy this weather. However, forecasting in such times is quite boring. To spice things up, let’s have a .gif party!

Essentially, this entire forecast is thanks to a big ridge setting up across the eastern United States. This is pushing all jet stream flow to the north of the region, leaving us disturbance free.

Thus, all the “cool” weather makers are well to the north of the region. A cold front will even try to approach the region on Monday morning, however, it just can’t hold up against the ridge and high pressure in place. Thus, the heat will persist.

Looking Ahead

It’s beginning to look like we might finally see some relief from the heat around Thursday or Friday. Then, it looks like the ridge breaks down and a large longwave trough will enter the region. Northerly flow aloft should usher in some cooler temperatures. Keep those fingers crossed!
