Forecast Discussion

A large ridge will influence the majority of our weather over the coming days. Expect late-summer like temperatures to continue today and open November. Near record high heat should subside by Thursday though.

A cold front moved through the region last night. However, this was a very weak front and temperatures will only be knocked down a couple degrees today. Easterly surface winds will be nice, keeping high temperatures around 80° under partly cloudy skies.

The aforementioned cold front will lift back northward as a warm front overnight and into tomorrow. This will lead to southerly flow across the region. Thus, temperatures will rise once more. Highs tomorrow may be in record territory. Who would have thought we would open November with highs in the mid 80s? Not me.

Southerly flow will continue on Wednesday ahead of a trough. This will help keep temperatures in the low 80s, despite upper level height falls. Clouds begin to move in late Wednesday night and Thursday morning, in front of what could be a rather wet Thursday.

Looking Ahead

A cold front is in sight for Thursday. After this moves through, temperatures should drop back into the 60s and 70s for the rest of the week. Looking long term, over the next couple of weeks, the Climate Prediction Center believes above average temperatures will continue, as well as below average precipitation.

That should wrap up this forecast. Be sure to follow @WxOrNotBG and @WKUweather for the latest Bowling Green weather information. Have a great day!
