Hot, Hot, Hot Bowling Green Weather

Real-time Bowling Green Weather Radar

Yesterday’s Weather

Hot and humid are the words of the day! It might not have been as hot yesterday as it has been lately, but it was still pretty stinkin hot out there! According to the Kentucky Mesonet, Warren county had a high temperature of 90 degrees, observed at one of the stations. The heat is one thing, but the humidity is a whole different story. If it wasn’t so humid, I might be able to stand being outside for longer than 3 minutes at a time.

This upper-level ridge that we are currently under has been keeping our temperatures up, and, unfortunately, that doesn’t look to change over the next couple of days. For today, highs look to be in the low to mid 90’s under partly sunny skies. And, don’t worry. Dewpoints will be in the 70’s again today, making it super humid outside. Man, I love summer! The latest weather models have today and tomorrow being mostly dry with the exception of some isolated showers and thunderstorms. With that being said, Sunday looks to be even drier than today, so I guess that is some good-ish news.

For both today and tomorrow, lows will be in the mid to upper 70’s under mostly cloudy skies.

Monday looks like it could potentially be a little bit interesting. The rain chances look better, which could help cool us off just a little (yay!). A trough will come through and push that upper-level ridge out of the way slightly, increasing our rain chances. At this point, I can’t give exact timing of these showers and thunderstorms, but they look to appear later in the day. Daytime heating will also be a factor in the timing of these storms, so make sure to stay tuned to the blog for an update.

Highs for Monday will be in the low to mid 90’s, and lows in the low to mid 70’s across the region.

Extended Outlook

Next week looks to bring some lower temperatures (hooray!), but higher rain chances(boo!). The aforementioned front moving in Monday seems to push through the area more slowly, leaving behind a greater amount of moisture. This looks to increase our rain chances through the rest of the week.

According to the CPC, we are encountering above average temperatures and above average precipitation over the next 6-10 day time scale. So, unfortunately, more rain and heat is coming our way, folks.
