Unsettled Pattern To Impact Region

Real-Time BG Radar:

Today: Mostly sunny, with highs right around 54°F. Tonight: Clouds increasing, with lows falling to around 41°F.

First of all, I still can’t get over that National Title Game last night.

I am stunned at the ending, and happy with the outcome. What a game! Anyways, to keep it short and sweet, we will be under the influence of a colder high pressure system that propagated into the region in the late afternoon and into the overnight hours of yesterday.

This modified our airmass fairly significantly, ushering int dry and cold air. This will keep skies mostly sunny and temps in the mid 50s. Overnight, ridging will build across the region, as a low pressure system forms to out west and north. Because we will largely be within south to southwesterly flow, this will keep temps elevated into the mid 40s across the region.

Tomorrow: Mostly cloudy, with showers and storms possible. Highs around 62°F. Wed. night: Mostly cloudy, with lows falling to 43°F.

Ah, in this never ceasing progressive pattern, I feel like we haven’t had a break from precip or air mass modification in quite sometime. This will be one of those systems.

While it will roll into our region quickly (making it breezy), precip will form out ahead of it in association with favorable dynamics.

Now, there is a threat for small hail in the strongest of storms/showers, but this is fairly dependent on how much sunshine we get. If we get more sunshine, it will change the vertical temp profile in the atmosphere more rapidly, favoring storms and possible hail (very cold mid levels).

Temps for highs during the day will end up in the low to mid 60s as highs, with mid 60s pushing the envelope in terms of aggressive temperature solutions.

Overnight, look for skies to stay partly to mostly cloudy, with temps falling into the lower 40s.

Thursday: Cloudy, with isolated showers throughout the day. Highs ending up around 57°F. Thur. night: Mostly cloudy and isolated showers, with lows falling to around 42°F.

Well, Thursday sure looks interesting.

The same trough that will be effecting us tomorrow will be effecting us on Thursday. A there will be a weak surface low that will pass through the region in association with favorable lift from some dynamical features moving into KY, and you get the day we’re looking at on Thursday.

Temps will only end up in the mid 50s. Like for tomorrow, there is a slight chance of small hail in the strongest of storms, as the mid levels of the atmosphere are very cold. Overnight, the showers threat continues with lows in the lower 40s.

Well, that is all I have today folks! Have a good one!
