Daytime Cold Front Displays Wide Temperature Difference in Kentucky

It always seems like we get cold fronts during the night hours in Kentucky. This is likely due to the timing of progressing waves from the central United States. However, a cold front is currently moving across the state, which is leading to a very nice temperature gradient. The temperature according to the Kentucky Mesonet at Hickman, KY was 71.2°F, meanwhile the temperature at Alexandria, KY was 40.7°F. This leads to a temperature gradient of 30.5°F!
