Wednesday Bowling Green Weather

Real-Time Bowling Green Weather Radar:

Today – Showers early; cloudy with intermittent sunshine – High 71˚ / Tonight – Severe thunderstorms possible – Low 57˚

Good Wednesday morning, Bowling Green! Is everyone excited for Christmas? I know I sure am…even though it feels nothing like Christmas outside! And, unfortunately, it’s not going to feel like that for at least the next few days. For today, it looks like we’ll start off slightly wet with some off and on showers. There is a possibility for some sunshine during the morning and early afternoon hours, though.

For temperatures, we will be solidly in the warm sector of the surface front, meaning that we will quite warm for this time of year with highs in the low 70’s – possibly even record-breaking temperatures!

Forecast valid Wednesday 18Z

The afternoon and evening forecast could be very different than the kind of weather we have been experiencing lately, as there is a threat for possible severe weather. The SPC has put our region right along the border between enhanced and slight risk. There is a threat for damaging winds, hail, and possible tornadic activity. However, morning precipitation and lack of sunshine (heating) during the day could decrease the severe weather potential.

SPC Convective Outlook Day 2, Valid Wednesday 6AM through Thursday 6AM

The highest severe weather threat looks to be in the afternoon through early evening hours. Because of the timing of this event, there is a chance it could be getting dark outside when the severe weather hits, meaning that physically seeing what is going on outside might be limited. There is still some uncertainty in the evolution of these storms, so I recommend keeping a close eye on the weather.
