Warm, With A Chance Of Severe Storms?

Real-time Radar:

Today: Partly to mostly cloudy, with warm temps. Highs around 64ºF. Tonight: Clouds increasing, with a low of 60ºF.

Well, today actually looks to be the nicest day of my forecast period. Partly to mostly cloudy skies and mid 60s; in December? I will take that in a heartbeat! Of course I am at the beach, so it’s gonna be a nice weeeeek.

Anyways, enjoy today, because tomorrow will be a madhouse. AS I said, today will be partly cloudy for most of the day, with clouds increasing towards the end of the day. Highs will end up in the mid 60s under the brief influence of a high pressure system.

Overnight, we will see the increasing clouds, and lows only falling into the low 60s.

Tomorrow: Rain early, with clouds decreasing, and then increasing again. Highs around 69ºF. Wed. night: Severe thunderstorms possible. Windy. Lows around 59ºF.

Well, to put things in perspective, we haven’t had an interesting weather event in, oh, a million years.

Maybe not a million, but it has felt like it. So, I am just happy to have an interesting forecast. To put it simply: tomorrow looks pretty interesting. We are looking at rain to start the day initially, but then there is a decent chance we see some sunshine heading into the afternoon.

The break in waves in the precip is key in our severe threat on Wednesday evening and overnight. If we can get even an hour and a half of some sunshine, our instability will increase. We are already looking at more of it than the past few events, and that has me concerned about a possible severe weather event.

The SPC only has us in a marginal risk currently, but that is almost certain to be increased by the next update. We will be firmly entrenched within the warm sector of a strong low, so expect temps increasing to the upper 60s.

Christmas Eve: Much better. Partly cloudy, with highs around 67ºF. Christmas eve night: Santa Claus Is Coming To Town. Lows around 41ºF.

Well, after a crazy Wednesday, it is time to unwind and actually try to enjoy Christmas eve.

Make cookies, laugh, play games; but overall, just enjoy your family. Many don’t get that opportunity this time of year. It will be fairly nice out, with partly to mostly cloudy skies dominating, with highs approaching the upper 60s,
