Today 10/17 – Sunny & Cooler – High 56˚ / Tonight – FREEZE Warning – Clear – Low 32˚
It’s cold out there this morning and if you woke up before the sun, you might have seen a little frost on the grass. Today will be cool and beautiful with temperatures in the upper 50s thanks to a high pressure system and upper-level trough drawing in cool, Canadian air.
Tonight will be much colder than last night with temperatures around freezing. If you haven’t turned on the heat yet, tonight will probably make you want to crank it up.
We have a possibility of seeing the season’s first freeze tomorrow morning. According to the NWS in Louisville, we are ahead of schedule for the first 32 degree temperature reading of the season, which is typically around October 23. If you have sensitive plants or vegetation outside, you’ll need to bring them indoors tonight!
Sunday 10/18 – Sunny – High 60˚ / Sunday Night – Clear – Low 36˚
The massive high pressure system that has been slowing moving across the U.S. will be centered right over our region Sunday making for a beautiful, sunny day. Temperatures will still be cool as northerly winds continue to wrap around the center of high pressure.
We’ll have another chilly night on Sunday with the potential for frost. After Sunday, temperatures will slowly be on the rise as the high pressure moves east and southerly winds take over. If you’re not quite ready for long-lasting cold weather, you’ll get some relief next week with 70 degree weather.
Monday 10/19 – Sunny – High 67˚ / Monday Night – Clear – Low 43˚
Monday should be a gorgeous day with highs in the upper 60s. Temperatures will slowly warm back to the seasonal norm over the next couple days following Monday.
The weather will be fantastic this weekend, so find a hayride to hop on or some pumpkins to carve. October is half over!
