The snowstorm currently slamming the Northeast left over a foot of snow across a large chunk of the Midwest. Chicago and surrounding locations were under a blizzard warning for much of the day yesterday and into the night. Chicago officially recorded 19.3 inches of snow as of this morning, making it the 5th largest snowstorm on record to impact Chicago. Impressive! Many Universities and schools across northern Illinois, Indiana, and southern Michigan were forced to cancel classes today.
The accumulation map shows a large swath of snow from Nebraska through Michigan. This will expand into the Northeast throughout the day.
Take a look at some of the photos from the large snow accumulations.
