Friday Morning, Bowling Green Weather

Bowling Green Weather – Real-time Radar:

Today 8/8 – Scattered Showers & T’Storms – High 84° // Tonight – Scattered Showers & T’storms – Low 71°

6am 71º – 9am 74º – 12pm 81º – 3pm 84º – 6pm 80º

We received some very beneficial rain last night; KY Mesonet totals were .45″ and .38″ respectively, with ASOS reporting .93″ at Bowling Green Regional Airport. Very nice for our parched soil and a good start in getting us back on track. Today we should see a decent chance for more scattered showers and storms, which will only help out more in the rainfall department.

Winds will shift out of the south after a passing warm front and bring our dewpoints up into the low 70s, whish will fuel our precipitation chances today in association with the area of low pressure passing through our area. Here’s our surface map for 1pm:

This afternoon and evening will be much of the same, scattered showers and storms will be likely throughout the entire day with this low sitting and spinning just to our north; expect highs into the low 80s. Tonight will see lows in the low 70s, any lingering precipitation will likely decrease in coverage.

Saturday 8/9 – Scattered Showers & T’Storms – High 86° // Saturday Night – Isolated Showers & T’Storms – Low 72°

Bowling Green’s weather will be a similar scenario on Saturday, this low should continue to slowly work its way to the east, but as long as its nearby, our precipitation chances will remain as well. Guidance suggest showers and storms in the afternoon, but not in as great of coverage, temperatures should be a bit warmer, overall, as a result. Good news for our soil, bad news for those outside I suppose.

Saturday evening and night look to be an improvement weather wise, lingering showers and storms should diminish and lows will fall into the low 70s, once again, overnight.

Sunday 8/10 – Isolated Showers & T’Storms – High 87° // Sunday Night – Isolated Showers & T’Storms – Low 69°

Finishing up the weekend will mostly be pain free weather wise. We will still have the isolated threat for showers and storms with the lingering area of low pressure to our northeast, but overall a good day, and we will continue to need all the rain we can get. Most of the precipitation will likely be to our east and northeast as the low continues that direction; expect highs in the mid and upper 80s.

Sunday evening and night will contain more of the same, the isolated chance for precipitation and lows around 70. The low pressure system responsible for all of this beneficial rain is cutoff from the primary area of the jet stream, as seen above in the map to the left, hence its slow progression eastward. Good news, as said earlier, for the below average rainfall totals thus far though.

That sums it up for now, folks. Be sure to stay up to date with all your real time Bowling Green weather info @WxOrNotBG and @WarrenCountyWX on Twitter. Have a great Friday!
