Tropical Depression Forms in the Atlantic Ocean

The National Hurricane Center has been keeping a close eye on a tropical disturbance way out over the Atlantic Ocean today. The area of low pressure is currently around 1250 miles east of the Lesser Antilles and has been showing signs of better organization throughout the day.

This area of low pressure has just become a tropical depression and is the second tropical depression to form in the Atlantic Ocean this season.

By later this week, this tropical depression is expected to weaken as it reaches the Lesser Antilles and moves into an area less conducive for further development.
