Sunday Weather Update

Real-time Radar:

Today – 6/29 Mostly Cloudy; Sct’d T’storms – High 85º / Tonight – Mostly Cloudy; Iso’d Showers – Low 70º

6am 69º – 9am 77º – 12pm 82º – 3pm 85º – 6pm 81º

Good Sunday morning to everyone reading, looks like we have another warm, muggy day on tap with chances of precipitation likely throughout the day today. Afternoon showers and thunderstorms will be scattered all throughout the region as we have a weak stationary boundary draped overhead and will provide extra lift to an already warm and moist atmosphere. Here’s a look at our morning surface map valid for 7am:

Showers and storms left over from Saturday night could be a factor in the morning as well and could limit our sunshine early on. However expect highs into the mid and upper 80s with southerly flow helping spark off thunderstorms into the afternoon.

Monday 6/30 – Mostly Sunny; Iso’d T’storms – High 90º / Monday Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 73º

Monday will be a warm one with the bulk of precipitation to our northwest as jet stream dynamics help organize thunderstorms across the Missouri and Illinois region. A warm, moist atmosphere with southerly flow will, of course, maintain the chance for an isolated shower or thunderstorm in the afternoon. Expect highs into the upper 80s and near 90 across the region. Heat indices could reach mid 90s in areas receiving the most sunshine.

Monday night should be relatively calm as any lingering showers will dissipate with the loss of diurnal heating. Expect lows in the low 70s and calm conditions.

Tuesday 7/1 – Mostly Sunny; Iso’d T’storms – High 93º / Tuesday Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 72º

Jet stream winds will continue to remain to our north, draped across the Great Lakes region, on Tuesday but will slowly start to push southeast just nearby the Ohio Valley by late Tuesday, early morning Wednesday. Isolated to scattered thunderstorms are possible in the afternoon and evening during peak instability hours but will likely diminish overnight.

That being said however, it will still be a very warm day with highs into the low 90s and heat indices into the upper 90s in our area. NAM 2M temps for 4pm Tuesday pictured below:

July is coming in hot and it will be a warm work week ahead of us across the entire forecast region. Always remember to keep an eye on the radar for outdoor plans and stay weather aware. Otherwise, enjoy the sun and get in the pool if you can!

That sums it up for now. Be sure to stay up to date with all your real time weather info @WxOrNotBG and @WarrenCountyWX on Twitter. Thanks for reading and have a Sunday!
