Tropical Storm Amanda Strengthens to Hurricane

Tropical Storm Amanda strengthened to a hurricane overnight in the eastern Pacific Ocean. As of 10 AM CDT, Amanda had maximum sustained winds of 75 mph and was located 645 miles southwest of Manzanillo, Mexico. Amanda is moving slowly to the west-northwest around 5 mph. Amanda is expected to strengthen into a major hurricane over the coming days.
