Rain Tonight

Tonight – Rain – Low 53˚

9am 48˚ ~ 12pm 60˚ ~ 3pm 65˚ ~ 6pm 63˚ ~ 9pm 56˚

High pressure is sliding east out of the area this evening, which will allow a low pressure system to work its way in from the southwest. Tonight, clouds will be on the increase, with scattered showers moving into the area around midnight.

Light to moderate rainfall will steadily fall throughout the area. Unfortunately, rain will continue right into the start of your Monday.

Horrible… I know.

Mon – Scat’d Showers, Breezy – High 67˚ / Mon Night – Cloudy, Iso’d Showers – Low 43˚

The low pressure system will track directly over the area on Monday. As a result scattered showers will continue right into the Monday morning commute. Its close track also means that we may see what is known as the “dry slot” over our region which would lower rainfall totals and allow most of the rain to end during the morning to midday time-frame.

Here’s a look at what to expect with this system from start to end according the NAM model:

Rainfall totals in the area will likely be in the 0.75″ to 1.25″ range; isolated 1.25″+ possible. This additional rainfall will increase stress on already full rivers & streams from recent rainfall. Thus the minor river flooding, especially along the Green River, may be prolonged.

WPC forecast precipitation totals through Tuesday morning.

Isolated showers and clouds will stick around into the afternoon. Also, it will be breezy. Winds throughout the day will be from 10-20mph, but particularly in the afternoon, an increase in winds to 15-25mph will be noted with gusts up to 30mph+.

Overnight, clouds will hang around and an isolated shower cannot be ruled out. Temperatures will take a tumble behind the system as well as with lows dropping into the low to mid 40s.

Tues –  Scat’d Showers, Mostly Cloudy – High 59˚ / Tues Night – Mostly Clear – Low 35˚

A trough will remain in place over the area as we move into Tuesday which will bring in another weak upper-level disturbance which will, at the very least, keep areas of clouds in the region and could bring in a few more light showers. Tuesday night everything finally clears out as high pressure builds back in by Wednesday.
