Sunny Today, More Rain to Come

Today 4/5 – AM Clouds, Mostly Sunny – High 58˚ / Tonight – Mostly Clear – Low 35˚

9am 44˚ ~ 12pm 51˚ ~ 3pm 57˚ ~ 6pm 55˚ ~ 9pm 46˚

Not a whole lot to say about the weather for today other than… high pressure. High pressure will be sliding through the Ohio Valley which should result in sunny skies and mild temperatures in the upper 50s to near 60 once these pesky morning clouds move out. All-in-all, today should be a great day to spend a little time outside.

Here’s a look at the current (~7am Sat) surface analysis:

Overnight, mostly clear skies and nearly calm winds will allow temperatures to dip into the mid 30s.

Sun – Partly Sunny, Iso’d PM Showers – High 68˚ / Sun Night – Rain Likely – Low 52˚

Come Sunday, the high pressure will be easing its grip as it slides off to our east. The first half of the day should be fairly nice with partly sunny skies & warm temps. It’s during the afternoon, however, that clouds will begin to increase as the next storm system approaches.

No Congressmen Boehner….  there is more rain to come!

A well defined upper-level disturbance and an associated surface low pressure system will move into our area Sunday evening/overnight. What that means is, yep, you guessed it… rain.

Rain should generally start after 6pm on Sunday and continue right into Monday morning. While all the details still need ironed out, it seems quite possible that rain could be moderate to heavy at times.

Mon – Rain Likely – High 64˚ / Mon Night – Mostly Cloudy, Iso’d Showers – Low 43˚

Start the week off right…. ehhh, not. Rain showers will continue right into Monday morning before tapering off around midday. In the end, rainfall totals for the entire system will be 0.50″-1.50″ which may cause a continued flooding risk on area rivers and creeks which are already running high.

Clouds and maybe a few isolated showers will continue into Monday night as the system begins to pull away. Meanwhile temperatures return to the low 40s for overnight lows.

Get out and enjoy today before more soggy times ahead by Sunday night into Monday. That’s all I’ve got for you today but, as always, keep up with the latest by following @WxOrNotBG and @WarrenCountyWx on twitter. Thanks for reading and have a great Saturday.
