Today 3/17 – Decreasing Clouds – High 50˚ / Tonight – Partly Cloudy – Low 33˚

6am 28˚ ~ 9am 33˚ ~ 12pm 42˚ ~ 3pm 49˚ ~ 6pm 46˚ ~ 9pm 40˚

A few slick spots are out there this morning, friends, as temperatures hover below the freeze mark.  Use caution on the morning commute.

High pressure will build into the Ohio Valley today, meaning drier conditions will take shape across the area.  Although temperatures are only expected to reach ~50˚, light winds out of the north should combine with a mix of sun & clouds to provide a relatively nice, mild start to the week.  Here’s a look at the current surface conditions:

Tue – Partly Sunny – High 69˚ / Tue Night – Increasing Clouds – Low 46˚

A warm front will lift north of the area and cause winds to shift out of the south.  This is good news, as it will cause our temperature values to climb rather quickly.  By Tuesday afternoon, we’ll be looking at temp readings in the mid to upper 60s, with a few of us potentially meeting the 70˚ threshold.  This excites me…and Ron, too.

On Tuesday night, cloud cover will increase as a cold front closes in from our west.  A few showers may even track in after midnight.  It won’t be anything serious.

Wed – Scat’d Showers – High 62˚ / Wed Night – Clear – Low 35˚

The aforementioned cold front will progress east across south central Kentucky throughout our Hump Day, bringing scattered showers along with it.  Rainfall amounts will not be substantial, with a few of us potentially seeing .10-.25″.  The GFS precip model below, valid for 6am Wednesday, shows light precip exiting to our east:

The passing of the boundary will do little to hurt our temperatures as we get into the latter part of the week, as our next weather maker takes shape to our west.  We’ll remain nice & dry both Thursday & Friday, with temperatures topping out around 62˚ & 70˚, respectively.

Another cold front will dive east/southeast across the area on Friday night, bringing with it our next realistic opportunity at seeing showers and thunderstorms.  Details still need to be ironed out, but parameters as of now are hinting toward a milder upcoming weekend, as cooler air filters in behind this disturbance.

That’s all I’ve got for now.  As always, stay in touch with @WarrenCountyWx & @WxOrNotBG for the latest in weather information.  Have a great start to the week.  Thanks for reading.
