Snow Chances Tonight?

Sorry… no joke! Isolated snow showers are possible yet again tonight.

Today 2/15 – Partly Cloudy, Flurries – High 32˚ / Tonight – Iso’d Snow Showers – Low 28˚

9am 20˚ ~ 12pm 27˚ ~ 3pm 32˚ ~ 6pm 31˚ ~ 9pm 30˚

Brrr! Who forgot and left on the AC last night? The comparatively warm temperatures in the 40s to near 50 that we saw on Thurs & Fri are taking a weekend hiatus. Temperatures are in the upper teens across the area this morning, and when you factor in the breeze, wind chills are in the single digits. Moral of the story… bundle up this morning.

There have been a few flurries this morning… no worries though. We’ll see some brief clearing before noon, but unfortunately, any sun we do see will again be quickly replaced with more cloud cover this afternoon as yet another clipper system dives into the Ohio Valley. See the below forecast model to get an idea of how the system will move in.

High-res NAM indicates a few snow showers in the area ~9pm this evening.

Don’t fret. The Dry Air Monster will again be roaming south-central KY this evening so I think most of us only squeeze out a few flurries, if anything. At least some isolated snow shower activity is possible in the area but any snow will remain very light.

Accumulations?? …a few locations could see a dusting but I think most of us get away with little of nothing. Our best chance at flurries/snow showers is between 6pm and 3am.

Sun – Partly Sunny – High 44˚ / Sun Night – Mostly Cloudy – Low 28˚

Should see enough sun tomorrow to call in partly sunny. Overall not a bad Sunday, although temperatures will still be a bit cool with a high in the low to mid 40s. Overnight, clouds will begin to increase once again ahead of the next disturbance which moves in for Monday.

Mon – Rain Showers Likely – High 55˚ / Mon Night – Mostly Clear – Low 30˚

Rainy Monday? Ain’t nobody got time for dat. Our next weather maker will be sliding by to our north and with it will come sufficient atmospheric lift and a stream of atmospheric moisture from the Gulf flowing right into the Ohio Valley. Thus, showers are likely.

Warm southerly winds will allow temperatures to warm into the mid 50s. Nice! Sign of things to come… looks quite possible.

Try to contain your excitement… warming trend next week.

Things clear out Monday evening allowing for mostly clear skies overnight and cooling temperatures down around or just below freezing.

That’s it for now everyone. Keep up to date with the latest, especially with any passing snow showers this evening by following @Wx_Or_Not and @WarrenCountyWx on twitter. Enjoy a leisurely Saturday.
