Here’s to Friday…we made it.

Today 2/7 – Partly Cloudy – High 28˚ / Tonight – Scat’d Snow Showers – Low 22˚

**Winter Weather Advisory from 9pm tonight – 12pm Saturday for Allen, Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Logan, Simpaon and Warren County**

6am 12˚ ~ 9am 18˚ ~ 12pm 25˚ ~ 3pm 28˚ ~ 6pm 28˚ ~ 9pm 25˚

High pressure will track just north of the area today, then split to the northeast.  This should provide partly cloudy skies to go along with a  few rays of sunshine across the region today, however, highs will still be limited to the upper 20s.  I’ve had a few reports of flurries this morning, so it looks like we may get a little bit of everything today.  Here’s a glance at how the current surface conditions look:

Overnight, cloud cover will steadily increase, with scattered snow showers arriving after sunset.  Minor accumulations (spotty dusting – 2″) will be possible, so please use caution if you are traveling tonight.  Localized areas may even receive more.  We will go under a Winter Weather Advisory at 9pm tonight.

Someone.  Make.  It.  Stop.

Sat – Scat’d AM Snow Showers – High 40˚ / Sat Night – Cloudy – Low 26˚

**Winter Weather Advisory until 12pm for Allen, Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Logan, Simpson and Warren County**

Scattered snow showers will pester the region throughout the early part of our Saturday, with partly to mostly cloudy skies expected through the afternoon.  Slick spots will be inevitable, so again, please travel carefully.  As previously mentioned, accumulations could range from a spotty dusting – 2″.  Light southerly winds will help temperatures rebound into the lower 40s.

Take a look at the NAM simulated radar model loop, valid from 6pm Friday – 6am Saturday in 3-hour increments.  This should give you an idea of how this weather maker may behave:

For Saturday night, we’ll remain cloudy and dreary, ahead of another weak disturbance approaching from our west.

Sun – Iso’d Snow Showers – High 34˚ / Sun Night – Scat’d Snow Showers – Low 20˚

More of the same, folks.  A weak disturbance will dive southeast across the lower Ohio Valley, keeping isolated snow showers in the forecast.  This will be a narrow band of snowfall, so any shift could mean changes to the outlook.  The GFS Precip model below is valid for 6pm Sunday, and paints frozen precip tracking in from our northwest:

That will wrap up the morning update.  Stay connected with me @Wx_Or_Not for more frequent information.  Enjoy your Friday, and thanks for reading.
