Friday…when sneaking out of the office early is top priority.

This Afternoon – Partly Sunny – High 26˚ / Tonight – Scat’d Snow Showers – Low 18˚

**Winter Weather Advisory for Allen, Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Logan, Simpson & Warren County from 9pm tonight – 12pm Saturday**

3pm ~ 6pm ~ 9pm ~ 12am ~ 3am ~ 6am

High pressure has provided partly sunny skies across south central kentucky for much of the day, and this should continue through this evening.  Here’s a look at the latest surface conditions:

Surface Model Valid 2pm Fri
Surface Model Valid 2pm Friday

Increasing clouds will take over after sunset, as the high propagates to our northeast.  A mid level disturbance is expected to fire off scattered snow showers in response, with minor accumulations possible.  The HRRR simulated radar model below paints light, frozen precip across our area at 10pm tonight:

The latest data has taken more of a southward track with this weather maker, and is not as impressive with snow totals.  I still believe a spotty dusting – 1″ is plausible for most, with up to 2″ not out of the question.  We’ll be under a Winter Weather Advisory starting at 9pm.  If you’re traveling late tonight, do so with caution.

Sat – Scat’d AM Snow Showers – High 32˚ / Sat Night – Cloudy – Low 24˚

**Winter Weather Advisory until 12pm Saturday for Allen, Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Logan, Simpson & Warren County**

We’ll keep a few scattered snow showers in the forecast throughout the start of our Saturday, with partly to mostly cloudy skies slated for the afternoon.  Slick roads are likely early, as temperatures remain below freezing.  Again, proceed with caution if you’re on the roads.

The new models have taken a turn regarding high temperatures, suppressing them to the lower 30s tomorrow afternoon.  This is a direct result of the system trending more southward, giving us colder air filtering in from the north.

Sun – Iso’d Snow Showers – High 34˚ / Sun Night – Iso’d Snow Showers – Low 19˚

Similar forecast, different day.  Another weak impulse of energy will slide southeast across our proximity on Sunday, keeping dreary conditions around for yet another day.  Iso’d snow showers will once again rendezvous with our, keeping a seemingly never-ending weather headache around.

That’s going to be all for the work week, folks.  Stay in touch with WarrenCountyWx & Wx_Or_Not for the latest up-to-date information regarding our snow chances.  Ryan Difani will be here this weekend to keep you up to speed.  Have a great weekend, and stay safe.  Thanks for reading.
