Another chance at snow…sound that broken record.

This Afternoon – Partly Sunny – High 26˚ / Tonight – Scat’d Snow Showers Late – Low 21˚

3pm 25˚ ~ 6pm 25˚ ~ 9pm 24˚ ~ 12am 26˚ ~ 3am 28˚ ~ 6am 30˚

High pressure to our south will keep partly to mostly sunny skies in place through this evening.  Cloud cover will begin to increase ahead of our next weather maker as we get into the night.  Here’s a look at the current surface conditions:

A low pressure system will advance east/southeast across the Great Lakes, dragging an associated cold front southeast across our proximity.  With available moisture streaming into the region, our atmosphere will become primed for another round of winter weather early Saturday morning.  We’ve seen this before, right??

Sat – Scat’d AM Snow Showers, BLUSTERY – High 3 / Sat Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 18˚

Forcing provided by the cold front will coincide with a moist airmass to create scattered snow showers across the region.  This could very well lead to slick travel.  These snow showers will coincide with strong winds of 15-30mph to reduce visibility, further complicating travel.  If you’re traveling tomorrow morning, please exercise caution.  It will not be fun.

Take a look at the NAM simulated radar model below, which is valid from 12am – 12pm Saturday in 3-hour increments.  This should give you a better idea of how this weather maker may evolve:

As far as accumulations are concerned, the latest data has hinted at an increase in snowfall.  As for now, I’ll stick to what I said this morning…a spotty dusting to 1/2″, with the potential for 1″ not out of the question.

Those located to the north and east of Bowling Green may see more…perhaps 2″, with those in and around Louisville possibly seeing 3+”.  As for now, I feel confident with this forecast.  We have quite a bit of dry air to overcome.

We should see cloud cover begin to break up Saturday afternoon, as temperature values rebound to near 40˚, thanks to southwesterly winds of 10-15mph.  It doesn’t look like the snow will stay around for long.

Sun – Partly Sunny – High 48˚ / Sun Night – Scat’d Rain & Snow Showers – Low 18˚

We’ll start off our Sunday with a mix of sun and clouds to go along with highs near 50˚!  Enjoy it while you can, friends, as yet another strong cold front will push in on Sunday night, bringing with it another round of scat’d rain and snow showers.

Temperature values early next week look to be stuck between the teens and lower 20s, making for an unpleasant start to the week.  The cold air just doesn’t want to stop invading the area.

That’s all I’ve got for right now.  I’ll be back when necessary.  For more frequent information, be sure to stay in touch with @WarrenCountyWx and @Wx_Or_Not.  Have a great rest of your Friday, and stay safe.  Thanks for reading.
