Another Cold Day

imgg

Friday moonwalk…smooth.

Today 1/24 – Partly Sunny & COLD – High 24˚ / Fri Night – Iso’d Snow Showers – Low 20˚

6am 2˚ ~ 9am 8˚ ~ 12pm 20˚ ~ 3pm 24˚ ~ 6pm 22˚ ~ 9pm 24˚

High pressure will keep partly to mostly sunny skies in place across the region today.  Brisk, southwesterly winds of 10-20mph will make for unpleasant conditions.  Dress to combat the swift breezes.

Late tonight, a cold front will dive in from the northwest, bringing with it isolated to scattered snow showers.  This will be accompanied by strong northwesterly winds, which could create visibility and traveling concerns.

Sat – Scat’d AM Snow Showers – High 39˚ / Sat Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 19˚

Scattered snow showers are anticipated to stick around through midday Saturday, making way to partly sunny skies by the afternoon.  Minor accumulations of a spotty dusting up to 1/2″ will be possible.   Take a look at the NAM simulated radar model below, which is valid for 6am Saturday morning.  This gives you a better idea of what we’ll be monitoring…a wintry mix :

NAM Simulated Radar Valid 6am Saturday

Strong southerly flow will send temperatures into the upper 30s.  Winds are forecast to range from 15-30mph.  Another blustery day…indeed.

Sun – Increasing Clouds – High 48˚ / Sun Night – Scat’d Rain & Snow Showers – Low 18˚

We’ll kickoff our Sunday with partly to mostly sunny skies, as high pressure tracks to our east.  Increasing clouds are slated through the afternoon, as our next weather produces approach.  This producer will come in the form of another arctic front that will dive southeast across our proximity.

Strong southerly winds will usher temp values into the upper 40s on Sunday afternoon, with drastically contrasting conditions slated for Sunday night.  As the front surges to our southeast, scattered rain and snow showers will join tumbling temperatures.  I won’t be making any call on accumulations, but it does not look like anything significant.

A major cold snap will commence on Monday.  Temperature values look to be bitterly cold through the majority of the work week, with values limited to the single digits – mid teens.  We’re talking stupid cold.  Easy now…I can feel your excitement from here.

That’s all I’ve got for you this morning, folks.  Stay in touch with @WarrenCountyWx & @Wx_Or_Not for more frequent weather information.  Enjoy your Friday.
