Friday Afternoon Update

This Afternoon – Sunny – High 55 / Tonight – Clear, Low 34

4pm 50 ~ 7pm 43 ~ 10pm 38 ~ 1am 36 ~ 4am 35

High pressure has continued to maintain control over south central Kentucky, and this will keep sunny skies in the forecast through the afternoon and evening.  Light, northwesterly flow will remain in place as well, keeping chilly conditions around.  Have a look at the surface model for further verification:

Temperatures will make the slide as we get into the evening hours of today, so for all of you high school football fans be sure to dress warm for tonight’s playoff match-ups.  By 10pm, temperatures will be in the upper 30s.

Sat & Sun – Partly Sunny – Lower 60s / Sat & Sun Night – Partly Cloudy – Mid 30s

We’ll experience a slight increase in temperatures through the weekend, as our atmosphere maintains a peaceful attitude under sunny skies.  Light, southerly flow will allow highs to rebound into the lower 60s.  Overnight lows will slide to the mid 30s.

Next Week’s Snow Potential…

Models continue to flip flop on the snow potential for early next week, gang.  And, there’s not much to say at this point.  Expect the models to continue this trend into the weekend, before coming up with some sort of solution by early next week.  As for now, the most recent data lays light accumulations across our proximity.  Again, please take this with a grain of salt.  We cannot rely on models this far out.
That will be all for now, friends.  I’ll return sometime through the quiet weekend with an update on things.  Until then, have a fantastic rest of your Friday, and thanks for reading!
