Pleasant Start To The Week

Monday...
Monday…

Today – Partly Sunny, Isolated Shower – High 75 / Tonight – Partly Cloudy – 57

7am 60 {} 10am 67 {} 1pm 73 {} 4pm 75

Leftover moisture from a passing cold front will keep an isolated shower or two in the forecast this morning.  By this afternoon, we should be looking at partly sunny skies, as upper ridging begins to take over.  Overnight, we’ll remain partly cloudy, as the start of a quiet pattern takes place across south central Kentucky.

Tues – Partly Sunny – High 80 / Tues Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 59

7am 62 {} 10am 70 {} 1pm 79 {} 4pm 80

Upper ridging and high pressure at the surface will keep our atmosphere in a peaceful state, with partly to mostly sunny skies expected.  Temperature values will rebound slightly, into the lower 80s, with overnight lows sliding into the upper 50s.  The upper ridge can be viewed on the 500mb (~18,000ft) model below, which is valid for 10am Tuesday morning:

Wed – Partly Sunny – High 81 / Wed Night – Isolated Storms – Low 60

7am 62 {} 10am 71 {} 1pm 80 {} 4pm 81

More of the same, gang.  Upper ridge will remain in place, keeping calm weather around through the daylight hours of our Wednesday.  On Wednesday night, our next disturbance will approach the area, choreographing the start of an active last half of the work week.  This will cause the ridge to break down, allowing for isolated storms, before more sufficient rain chances enter the equation on Thursday.

That will be all for now, friends.  I’ll be back this afternoon with another update on the forecast.  Until then, enjoy your day, and have a great start to the work week.  Thanks for reading!
