Quiet Until Sunday

FRI–DAY. Dance justified, Brad…well played.

Today – Sunny & Nice – High 82 / Tonight – Clear & Clam – Low 58

7am 56 {} 10am 70 {} 1pm 78 {} 4pm 82

An upper ridge continues to dominate our atmosphere, giving us another day of sunny skies.  A few areas of patchy fog are present out there this morning, so all of you early commuters take note.  Skies will remain clear and quiet overnight, with not much going on.  Enjoy it, high school football fans…you deserve it after last week.

Sat – Partly Sunny – High 82 / Sat Night – Increasing Clouds – Low 57

7am 59 {} 10am 73 {} 1pm 80 {} 4pm 82

Similar to Thursday and today.  Upper ridge will play “Hall Monitor,” not allowing for any activity across the viewing area.  This ridge will finally begin to break down on Saturday night, which should create an increase in our cloud coverage.  As far as the WKU vs Navy matchup is concerned, if you’re tailgating early, pack a jacket.  Otherwise, expect temperatures close to 80 degrees around kickoff, which should maintain throughout the game.

Sun – Scattered Showers & Storms – High 74 / Sun Night – Isolated Showers – Low 56

7am 60 {} 10am 68 {} 1pm 70 {} 4pm 74

shortwave disturbance is still expected to churn into the Great Lakes region, as an affiliated surface low swings its cold front across south central Kentucky.  With bleak instability and plenty of moisture accessible, scattered showers and a few storms will have the potential to develop.  The NAM HiRes simulated radar model below is valid for 7am Sunday morning.  As illustrated, it paints a damp picture across our proximity:

Severe weather is not anticipated.  High pressure will build in behind the cold front, setting up cooler, drier conditions for us to enjoy through the first half of the upcoming work week.  Temperatures look to remain in the mid – upper 70s through Wednesday.

That’s all I’ve got.  I’ll be back this afternoon with the final forecast update of the work week.  I hope your Friday goes by quickly.  Here’s to my previous statement coming true.  CHEERS!
