High pressure building over us from the southwest will provide cool, dry conditions today across south central Kentucky. Partly to mostly sunny will be the weather story, along with chilly NW winds at 5-10mph. The surface map below shows the current conditions in place:

High pressure will maintain control over the region, with another quiet day consisting of partly to mostly sunny skies on tap.

Upper ridge will build over the eastern US, as a long-wave trough starts to dig into the desert southwest. This ridge is illustrated on the 500mb (~18,000ft) model below. This looks to provide sunny, peaceful conditions through the remainder of the work week:
