Nice & Cool Start To The Week

Monday...like a swift yoyo to the face.

Today – Partly Sunny & Cool – High 65 / Tonight – Clear – Low 45

7am 44 ~ 10am 55 ~ 1pm 62 ~ 4pm 65

High pressure building over us from the southwest will provide cool, dry conditions today across south central Kentucky.  Partly to mostly sunny will be the weather story, along with chilly NW winds at 5-10mph.  The surface map below shows the current conditions in place:

Tues – Mostly Sunny – High 70 / Tues Night – Clear – Low 47

7am 45 ~ 10am 61 ~ 1pm 68 ~ 4pm 70

High pressure will maintain control over the region, with another quiet day consisting of partly to mostly sunny skies on tap.

Wed – Mostly Sunny – High 73 / Wed Night – Clear – Low 48

7am 48 ~ 10am 57 ~ 1pm 71 ~ 4pm 73

Upper ridge will build over the eastern US, as a long-wave trough starts to dig into the desert southwest. This ridge is illustrated on the 500mb (~18,000ft) model below. This looks to provide sunny, peaceful conditions through the remainder of the work week:

That will be all for the morning update, gang.  I’ll be back this afternoon with another look at our expected quiet pattern.  Enjoy our first seasonable period of fall weather this week!
