High pressure will have the region in one of Ric Flair’s infamous “Figure-4 leg-locks” today, supplementing partly to mostly sunny skies for south central Kentucky.  Temps will be limited to near 70, as northwesterly winds of 5-10mph filter over the region.  I recommend a jacket for the morning commute.

Wed – Mostly Sunny & Warmer – High 76 / Wed Night – Clear – Low 48

7am 48 ~ 10am 59 ~ 1pm 72 ~ 4pm 76

Models continue to suggest an upper ridge solidifying itself across the eastern US, as a long-wave trough chisels into the desert southwest. This ridge is illustrated on the 500mb (~18,000ft) model below. This looks to keep a subtle atmosphere in place through the remainder of the work week. Also notice the aforementioned trough just southwest of California:

Thur – Mostly Sunny – High 77 / Thur Night – Mostly Clear – Low 54

Very quiet period in the forecast will continue, gang. Upper ridge looks to maintain control until the weekend…meaning plenty of sunshine and comfortable temperatures.

I’ll be back this afternoon with a fresh look at the latest data. Enjoy the second day of the work week!
