Wet Weekend Ahead As Next Storm Pushes Through

Happy Saturday everyone! Welcome to the weekend. I hope you had a great week! We ended the work week on a sunny note, but unfortunately wet weather is expected to arrive just in time for the weekend. Expect a wet weekend ahead as the next storm pushes through.

Rain Moves in Today

After a bright and sunny day yesterday, today will look a little more bleak. Clouds moved in during the overnight hours which will keep our skies covered today and for most of the weekend.

We will start the day under partly to mostly cloudy skies, but as our next weather-maker moves closer to the region, we could start to see some rogue showers move in, especially during the afternoon.

We could see a brief period of rain during the afternoon hours today, but the major event comes during the overnight hours.

We will look for a break from the rain come this evening, but the bulk of the system is expected to roll through overnight. Right now we are expecting rainfall totals around half an inch. High temperatures during the day will reach near 50°, and overnight lows will only fall to near 40°. Sorry, no snow chances tonight!

Showers Linger Into Sunday

As the low pressure spins off to our northeast on Sunday, a few showers can’t be ruled out as moisture is swung around the back side of the system. Showers may be scattered in nature, but those clouds will remain persistent.

Additionally, the passing cold front will make for windy conditions, with winds blowing around 15 mph. Despite the clouds and wind, temperatures will continue an upward trend with highs in the low 50’s.

However, the cold air we all know and love returns Sunday night as lows drop to around 32°. This means that any remaining showers could turn over to some light snow flurries during the overnight hours.

Per usual, we don’t expect any accumulations. Any rain and/or snow showers look to end by the time the sun rises on Monday, but the clouds look to hang around a little longer.

That finishes today’s forecast. Thanks for reading! Follow our live weather feed @wxornotBG, as well as on Facebook, for all your weather updates. Have a good Saturday!
