Heat Indices Near 100ºF All Week

Good morning, Kentucky! I know we were all hoping for a break in the heat, but it looks like heat indices near 100ºF will be the pattern for the rest of the week. I’ve got all the details below!

Scorcher of a Tuesday

Temperatures will climb back into the 90s today and make it feel like mid-summer outside. Our high temperature will top out in the low-90s and with dew points in the upper-60s, heat index values could raise into the upper-90s. As we always say, practice heat safety and drink plenty of water.

Things are pretty quiet over Kentucky. (NOAA)

Rain chances look rather slim for the wxornotBG area, so don’t worry about packing the rain gear today.

Chance of Storms on Wednesday

The ‘feels like’ conditions of today and tomorrow will be rather similar as heat indices go back to the upper-90s. The high temperature may be a few degrees cooler (low-90s) but dew points in the 70s will help raise the ‘feels like’ degree. There is a slight chance of thunderstorms tomorrow afternoon, but nothing looks promising right now.

Hot Again on Thursday

High heat indices are no surprise to you now. Thursday will be no acceptation to the unbearable heat as conditions return to what we’ve already been experiencing. Highs in the low-90s and dew points in the 70s will sky rocket the ‘feels like’ temperature back into the upper-90s.

High pressure over Kentucky will continue the hot conditions. (WPC)

That concludes today’s forecast! Have a great Tuesday and remember to take caution in this heat. Follow @wxornotBG to stay updated on those possible storms on Wednesday afternoon. See you next time!
