Forecast Discussion

We’re looking at another day of absolutely gorgeous weather, especially for late June. Partly sunny skies, low humidity and great temperatures. It simply can’t get better than this for this time of year!

I’m as excited about this weather as Joey Votto is when he has a 3-0 count. (Giphy/MLBAM)

The early part of today will be defined by an exiting shortwave that brought some overnight clouds and maybe a couple of showers to the region…but not much otherwise. On the backside of it, we’re right back into northwest flow, which means the good times keep on rolling.

*drools* (Pivotal Weather)

The rest of today will be defined by high pressure building in and keeping our winds northwesterly, allowing us to bask in the sunshine, great temps and nearly n0n-existant humidity.

Today: Mostly sunny skies with low humidity. High around 80º. Clear skies prevail at night and we’ll fall back to the upper 50s for lows.

  • Wake up: 🌤 61°
  • Lunch hour: 🌤 74°
  • Afternoon plans: 🌤 80°
  • Evening time: 🌤 70°

Tomorrow? Yep, more of the same!

High pressure will continue to dominate for the day on Wednesday and that keeps the weather absolutely phenomenal for a fifth straight day. That high pressure will begin to creep off to the east, however, re-introducing southwesterly winds into the forecast…and you know what that means.

Not yet…but it’s on the way. (Giphy)

Tomorrow will still be nice, if a little bit warmer. The outdoors isn’t turning into a sauna quiiiite yet. That’s more on the way for Thursday.

Tomorrow: More of the same: mostly sunny skies. High around 85º. Skies still mostly clear at night, allowing us to drop to around 70º.

  • Wake up: 🌤 58°
  • Lunch hour: 🌤 80°
  • Afternoon plans: 🌤 84°
  • Evening time: 🌤 75°

And then we welcome back the humidity.

Things were going so well. (Giphy)

The southwesterly flow has allowed the humidity to return to the air. Enough that you’ll feel it but you won’t need oars to get to your car…yet.

Thursday afternoon…we approach stems again. (Pivotal Weather)

Other than that, the overall weather will be like the last few days, mostly sunny. Though we can’t rule out a couple of spotty downpours that may show up in the heat of the afternoon. It’s summer time, the weather can’t be perfect forever.

Thursday: Mostly sunny skies with slightly higher temperatures and humidity. An isolated shower or storm possible in the afternoon. High right around 88º. Mostly clear skies at night, low only around 70º.

  • Wake up: 🌤 69°
  • Lunch hour: 🌤 83°
  • Afternoon plans: 🌤/⛈ 87°
  • Evening time: 🌤 80°

Today’s Key Points

  • Go outside. Breath the fresh air. And commit to memory what a nice day in late June feels like.
  • Do the exact same thing tomorrow. All over again.
  • Humidity’s on the increase for Thursday with an isolated storm possible.
  • Still though…abundant sunshine!

That just about does it for me! Thanks for checking into wxornotBG this morning, and be sure to follow @wxornotBG and @WKUweather on Twitter and like Landon Hampton on Facebook for the latest weather information throughout the day.
