Severe Weather Update

***Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect until 9 PM CDT***

Scattered thunderstorms have formed across far western Kentucky and are advancing to the east. Most of these storms are severe and capable of large hail and damaging wind. Of the storms expected, these also have the best chance to produce a tornado or two.

As these isolated storms begin to cluster, damaging wind will become the main threat. A second wave of severe thunderstorms is expected this evening. This line of storms will likely be the most intense assuming the earlier storms don’t take away too much energy. I would not be shocked to see pockets of 70-80 mph winds embedded in the second line of storms. Below is a regional radar view depicting the two waves of severe storms.

Those with outdoor activities this evening and overnight should closely monitor the weather. I would encourage you to explore other plans that take place indoors. You can stay updated by follow @wxornotBG on Twitter for the latest Bowling Green weather information.
