Autumn-Like Bowling Green Weather On The Way

Real-time Bowling Green Weather Radar

Yesterday’s Weather

Yesterday was fairly warm and non-eventful; this was much like many other days recently, actually. Skies started off mostly cloudy in the morning, as a weak shortwave moved through and only forced cloudy skies. Once we hit the afternoon, though, temps jumped into the lower 80s.

Discussion

The next few days look kinda-sorta Autumn-like!

I guess that is nice, but I do wish it would get cooler for a longer period of time. Oh well. We’ll get into that in a bit. The pattern over the next few days doesn’t look much different than it did yesterday, as the same general features are still there.

The trough that is moving across the central plains currently is still forecast to begin impacting us this evening and into the overnight hours. Expect weak, isolated showers along the front as it passes through here late tonight or early tomorrow morning.

This will bring a shot of cooler weather into the region behind the front. Mostly cloudy skies should remain across the region on Thursday, even after the front has passed. Expect that to continue into the overnight hours on Thursday as another trough, with better forcing, approaches.

This appears to be our primary precip producer this week. The trough will move into, and slowly through the region by early Friday morning. The main forcing mechanism will be more concentrated over the region this go around, so Friday looks showery and cool out.

What does all of this mean? Well, today is probably the “nicest” day for some of you. With highs in the upper 70s, low humidity and sunny skies for much of the day, this day won’t be too bad for ya.

Thursday and Friday look more gloomy, which is why I said the upcoming weather looks “Autumn-like”. Look for highs in the mid 60s both days, with mostly cloudy skies Thursday and rainfall on Friday.

Extended Outlook

The extended outlook is gonna be tough to pin down, as there looks to be a wave of intense troughs moving into and through the western United States. This will give the models difficulty in handling the situations that will result from these troughs. Nevertheless, the pattern is looking much more active and interesting that it has in recent weeks.
