Last evening, an incredibly photogenic and scenic microburst affected the city of Phoenix, Arizona. A microburst is a strong, concentrated downburst that produces wind damage and strong gusts across a small area. They are common, but are hard to capture in picture. Well, the best weather pic I have ever seen was taken of one last night.

Oh. My. Goodness. This is absolutely incredible. The atmosphere was primed for downbursts and microbursts across region, though. The evening sounding out of Phoenix showed a classic signal for microbursts across the region, with an inverted V, saturated mid levels and drier upper levels.
