Last week was much calmer and more serene that the week preceding it.

There were storms, but absolutely nothing like what we saw the week of July 4th. It was so pleasant to have a week in which thunderstorms, severe weather and flash flooding weren’t threats every day. We had some of that scattered throughout the week, but overall, it was just a pretty nice week!

Tuesday and Thursday were really the only days that were crazy last week. I busted bad on Tuesday, anticipating the precipitation to last longer than it did. Well, it didn’t last long and it didn’t stay cool. The precip was fairly widespread that day, but moved out by early afternoon.

Thursday featured scattered thunderstorms developing and moving through the region, slowly at that. They dumped precip across the region, creating some flooding issues…again. Additionally, wind damage occurred in some isolated areas. However, nothing like the week before.

Outside of that, it was just sunny, hot and humid, which is much to be expected across the region during the summer. Basically, last week was the quintessential summertime weather week. Not much significant stuff, but just enough to say it was active.
