Today 3/12 – Cloudy with scat’d showers – High 75/Tonight – Cloudy with rain showers – Low 62
Good Morning, Bowling Green! A warm front will be working its way up through our area today giving us warmer temperatures and increasing our rain chances. This, as well as a short wave trough in the upper levels, will create enough forcing for scattered showers throughout the day. High temperatures will make it into the mid-70s because of the southerly flow.
Simulated radar suggests showers will hold off until this afternoon as a more organized low level jet sets up behind the warm front. Rain showers will last through the night and heavy rain is possible in some areas. Things will continue to be soggy for the rest of the weekend.
Sunday 3/13 – Cloudy with rain showers – High 71/ Sunday Night – Cloudy with rain showers – Low 57
The initial shortwave trough in the upper levels will work its way eastward and a secondary, deeper trough will move in behind it. This will provide enough forcing, along with the moisture already in place thanks to the southerly winds from the Gulf, to keep rain showers around Sunday.
Highs will be slightly cooler on Sunday, but will still be in the 70s. Expect even more rain Sunday night as this secondary trough and surface low pressure system move across the area. New rain accumulations could be up to a quarter inch by Monday morning. And rain is still in the forecast for Monday…
Monday 3/14 – Cloudy with scat’d showers – High 70/Monday Night – Partly cloudy – Low 54
Monday will be a teaser with possible scattered showers in the morning and clearing throughout the day. High pressure will begin moving into the area Monday evening and the rain will finally take a break.
Before you get too excited, another system will be moving in on Tuesday that could potentially bring more rain chances and even some thunderstorms. Sorry to burst your bubble.
