Cool Down On The Way

Real-time BG Radar:

Today: Partly sunny and windy, with showers/storms into the evening. High of 64ºF. Tonight: Cloudy, with showers. Low of 50ºF.

I am really hoping that today doesn’t involve me getting drenched again. Multiple times the question of, “If a meteorology major knows it’s going to rain, and yet doesn’t bring an umbrella, are they really a major?” has ran through my head. Yesterday, the rain caught up to me.

And it rained hard and it was a cold rain. Luckily, the hat I was wearing was waterproof. Anyways, today looks like a rather interesting set up, as we will have a couple pieces of energy dive through here today and into tonight.

The first wave will likely be preceded by some morning and early afternoon sunshine, which will likely warm things up into the low to mid 60s. With a  tight pressure gradient setting up across the region, we should see some gustier winds. This will give way to some showers and isolated storms to form in the afternoon.

As these showers progress, don’t expect more than a brief heavy downpour. The lower levels of the atmosphere are pretty cold, so if you see some small hail, don’t be shocked.

The next feature (and next cold front) will dive into the area tomorrow night. This will bring additional clouds and showers into the overnight hours, keeping temps in the lower 50s for lows.

Wednesday: Showers early, with clearing by afternoon. High of 62ºF. Wed. night: Coolish, and mostly clear. Low of 41ºF.

Well, you’ll likely wake up today thinking, “Ah, well another rainy day”. On Jeopardy, I would answer that statement with, “What is…not correct!”

Today is actually looking fairly nice once we get the morning showers out of the way. Drier air will be making its way into the region, and temps should only make the lower 60s for highs across the region, making for a wonderful spring day!

Looking like a cool Wednesday! h/t Weatherbell

The clear skies should last us into the overnight hours, and with the clear skies, temps should drop pretty low. Your commute on Thursday morning will feature temps that have fallen into the lower 40s.

Thursday: Not super warm, but nice. Mostly sunny, with a high of 61ºF. Thur. night: Mostly clear, with a low of 39ºF.

Thursday will be a really nice day, and yet won’t be that pleasant when its all said and done. Yeah, it’ll be sunny, yeah, it’ll be this and that. However, after having many days in the 70s recently, the upper 50s and lower 60s don’t sound super ideal.

Oh well. I’ll take it! Overnight, high pressure will build into the region, and this will keep temps at a pretty solid low. Mostly clear skies will dominate, and will yield upper 30s for the lows across the region.
