Sunday Morning Bowling Green Weather Update

Today 4/12 – Mostly Sunny – High 77° / Tonight – Increasing Clouds – Low 59°

Good morning, another beautiful day is expected today thanks to an area of high pressure currently situated in eastern Virginia. Get out and enjoy today’s beautiful weather as southerly winds will help to push high temperatures in the middle to upper 70s.

Expect clouds to increase overnight as a cold front begins to approach the region from the west. Low temperatures will fall into the upper 50s.

Monday 4/13 – Sct’d Showers – High 73° / Mon Night – Showers & Thunderstorms – Low 51°

Rain showers are expected to increase in coverage by mid-morning tomorrow in response to a cold front to our west. As this cold front moves east, expect precipitation coverage to increase throughout the day. High temperatures will be dependent on the extent of afternoon cloud cover but high temperatures are expected to reach the lower 70s.

Some of the heaviest rain will occur tomorrow evening and overnight as the best forcing will be along the front. A few rumbles of thunder will be possible as well. Rain will begin to come to an end by daybreak on Tuesday as the front passes east of southern Kentucky. Rainfall totals of 0.5-1″ are expected on Monday and Monday night with localized higher amounts possible.

Tuesday 4/14 – Partly Cloudy; Iso’d Thunderstorms Early – High 70° / Tue Night – Mostly Cloudy – Low 51°

A few isolated thunderstorms will be possible Tuesday morning as the front pushes off to the east. Behind the cold front, we won’t see temperatures drop much as afternoon highs  will still make a run at 70°. High pressure will settle over the Ohio Valley to our north and skies will become partly cloudy.

Expect mostly cloudy skies overnight on Tuesday with low temperatures dropping into the lower 50s. Unfortunately, the soggy April pattern will continue later this week with more rain chances on the way.
