Upcoming Kentucky Events this Weekend

April has proved to be a wet month across the state so far. Check out the map below which displays radar-estimated precipitation totals for the month of April 2015 thus far. Portions of north central Kentucky and the Bluegrass regionĀ  have seen the highest rainfall totals although Warren and Butler counties have also seen above-average precipitation.

The current forecast for southern Kentucky calls for multiple rain chances throughout the week. Hopefully the state will see a break in this wet pattern this weekend as there are many outdoor events scheduled.

Here in Bowling Green, the WKU spring football game is scheduled to take place this Saturday at Houchens-L.T Smith Stadium. Kickoff will be at 1 pm CST and the current forecast calls for temperatures in the lower 70s under partly cloudy skies. Stay tuned to the forecast this week as the past few runs of the GFS model are highlighting the chance for isolated thunderstorms Saturday afternoon.

Slightly drier weather is expected to our north near Louisville where Thunder Over Louisville will be taking place along the Waterfront. Temperatures are also expected to reach the lower 70s but we will have to watch for chance of isolated thunderstorm during the evening around the time the fireworks begin.

Be sure to monitor changes in the forecast this week as this is just an early peek at the weather that can be expected this weekend.
