A cold front will approach from the west today.  This will increase cloud cover as we get into the afternoon.  Here’s a visual of what will be taking place today.

The cold front will slide east across the area tonight, bringing showers & thunderstorms along with it.  The 4km NAM simulated radar model below shows a wet picture closing in from our west at 8pm tonight:

Widespread severe weather is not expected.  The latest convective outlook from the SPC say you’ll have a 5% probability of severe winds (≥58mph) occurring within 25 miles of you tonight.

The latest QPF output suggests total rainfall amounts from this event will range from .50-.1″.  A few localized areas could see more.

Fri – Gradual Clearing – High 78˚ / Fri Night – Clear – Low 50˚

The cold front will exit to our east & take any lingering showers along with it.  It looks like we’ll be dry by dawn.  Expect skies to clear out as we end the work week.  Plenty of sunshine will join highs near 80˚.  Now… that’s worth a happy-dance.

We’ll keep things nice and calm throughout our Saturday as well.  A mix of sun & clouds will help see temps return to around 80˚.  Our next chance at rain will roll in on Sunday night, with the potential for a few strong storms arriving on Monday.  We’ll be keeping an eye on it.
