Jim Carrey said it best, today’s weather will simply be beautiful. High pressure is keeping our skies clear and temperatures in the upper 60s this afternoon. Light winds from north will help make it feel even better outside, and also keep our low temperature tonight on the chilly side with temperatures dropping into the lower 40s.

Thu – Sunny & Warm – High 80˚ / Thu Night – Rain Likely – Low 57˚

Thursday will start off just like today, but winds will turn to the south tomorrow allowing temperatures to make a run at 80 degrees. An area of low pressure and an associated cold front to our west will make its way east tomorrow spreading clouds over Kentucky by the late afternoon.

As the cold front passes over us overnight on Thursday, it will bring rain and even a few rumbles of thunder. Here is what the latest fun of the 4KM NAM model thinks the radar will look like tomorrow night:

While severe weather is not expected, some of the storms tomorrow night could be on the strong side and the afternoon update from the SPC keeps parts of southern Kentucky west of I-65 in the 5% risk for seeing severe weather within 25 miles of a point tomorrow.

day2outlook

Most of us will just see some plain rain and thunderstorms with the potential to see 0.25″ to 0.5″ of rain.

Fri – AM Showers, PM Sunny Skies – High 75˚ / Fri Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 50˚

Showers will come to an end by mid-morning Friday, and skies will be pretty quick to clear as the cold front scoots to the east. Warmer weather will pick back up where it left off and we’ll see highs in the middle 70s Friday followed by lows around 50 degrees.

The weekend looks warm and pleasant before we see our next chance of rain by Sunday afternoon. Until then, enjoy the great weather over the next few days. As always, for more frequent updates you can follow @WxOrNotBG and @WarrenCountyWX on Twitter. Have a great afternoon.
