  Yeah…RLY.

Today 3/28 – Partly Cloudy, Iso’d Showers & Storms – High 69˚ / Tonight – Showers & Storms Likely – Low 49˚

Partly cloudy skies are forecast to accompany isolated showers and storms today, as a cold front progresses east across the region.  I personally think the majority of us will remain dry through the day.

Our best chance at seeing the wet stuff won’t be until tonight, as a low pressure system tracks northeast along the front, as it stalls across central Kentucky.  The GFS model below places the low over middle Tennessee by 1am tonight:

Storms could become strong, with a few isolated cells possibly meeting severe criteria after sunset.  Main threats will be strong winds, frequent lightning, torrential rainfall and small hail.

The latest SPC outlook has placed a 5% probability of seeing severe weather within 25 miles of you:

Keep up with the precipitation throughout the day with the radar provided:

Sat – Scat’d AM Showers, Decreasing Clouds – High 53˚ / Sat Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 35˚

Scattered showers will stick around through early afternoon, with gradual clearing expected through the evening, as the cold front progresses east of the area.

Not a good outlook for all of you soccer/baseball players & parents out there.  Its a good bet all outdoor activities will be cancelled.  Total rainfall amounts from last night through Saturday morning will range between 1-2″.

The passing of the front will cause temperatures to be ~10-20˚ cooler than what we experience today, thanks to northwesterly winds of 10-15mph.  Don’t worry, after what we’ve experienced this winter, I think we can handle 53˚ for a high.

Sun – Sunny & Pleasant – High 61˚ / Sun Night – Clear – Low 38˚

High pressure will take over, giving us sunny skies to enjoy.  Temperatures will hang right around the 60˚ threshold, as winds remain relatively calm.  Here’s a look at the GFS surface model, valid for 1pm Sunday afternoon:

We’ll remain calm through the beginning of the work week, as southerly winds amp up across the area.  As of right now, Monday looks to be glorious, with highs in the low 70s.  Keep those fingers crossed!

That’s it for now.  As always, stay in touch with @WxOrNotBG for the latest in real-time weather information.  Have a great end to the work week.  Thanks for reading.
