Hey You…Go Outside

DiscGolfGIF
It’s been a long winter… gotta work off the rust.

Today 2/22 – Sunny – High 65˚ / Tonight – Partly Cloudy – Low 42˚

9am 48˚ ~ 12pm 60˚ ~ 3pm 65˚ ~ 6pm 56˚ ~ 9pm 50˚

After what has been a long winter, we deserve a day like today. Really…we couldn’t ask for much better weather as we soar to highs in the low to mid 60s across south-central Kentucky; that will be 10-15 degrees above average for this date. Meanwhile, skies will be sunny with high pressure in control.

By this point, I’m not sure why you’re still reading instead of going outside to enjoy it. Might I make some suggestions… go for a hike out at Mammoth Cave, take a stroll along the Barren River at Weldon Peete Park, head out to Lovers Lane Park and play some disc golf. The possibilities are endless, just get out and take advantage of a spectacular Saturday.

Forecast surface analysis is valid noon Saturday. Red arrows indicate the warm air moving in around the high pressure. Note the cold front just to our north which will pass through Sun AM.

Clouds will be on the increase overnight as a front moves into the area. No worries, no real precipitation is anticipated.

Sun – Partly Cloudy – High 52˚ / Sun Night – Mostly Clear – Low 27˚

The aforementioned weak front will be around into Sunday morning. Still not much going on in association with the front but an increase in clouds is likely; could even be mostly cloudy to overcast at times.

I cannot rule out an isolated shower in the area, but our chances are low, and I think most everyone stays dry. Winds will turn to the north allowing cooler air to filter into the area and thus highs will only reach the low 50s.

Skies should clear out Sunday night and as cooler air continues to filter in. For those that didn’t dip below freezing this morning, the above freezing streak should come to an end Sunday night. It’s been great while it’s lasted.

Mon – Mostly Sunny – High 44˚ / Mon Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 31˚

The work week should get off to a sunny start. Unfortunately, what goes up must come down right? Temperatures will be trending cooler this week (enter sigh here) and it looks like we will only reach the mid 40s for highs on Monday. Overnight temperatures will fall back around the freezing mark.

If I didn’t convince you to stop reading immediately and head outside and thus you read through this far, I commend you. We do appreciate you reading. But seriously, make the best of this weekend before cooler temperatures return this week.
