My favorite snag while out in the action last night.

This Afternoon – Sunny – High 55˚ / Tonight – Clear – Low 33˚

12pm ~ 3pm ~ 6pm ~ 9pm ~ 12am ~ 3am ~ 6am

Not much to talk about in the weather world, folks.  The cold front that helped produce our round of severe weather last night is now located well to our east, allowing for rays of sun to paint the sky.  A tight pressure gradient will keep moderate winds around today, which will top out between 15-25mph.  Tonight, we’ll remain quiet, with temperatures tumbling into the lower 30s.  Here’s a look at the current surface conditions for a better illustration of what we’re dealing with:

Sat – Partly Sunny – High 62˚ / Sat Night – Partly Cloudy – Low 40˚

Another nice day is slated to start the weekend.  Light, southwesterly winds will transport a little moisture into our region, which will be enough to produce a few clouds to go along with the sunshine.  This flow will also provide us with warmer temperatures than what we’ll experience today, topping out around the 60˚ threshold.  On Saturday night, we’ll remain nice and calm.  Overall, Saturday will be a great day to spend outdoors.  May I recommend hiking, jogging, a picnic at the park…

Sun – Partly Cloudy, Iso’d Showers – High 54˚ / Sun Night – Iso’d Showers – Low 29˚

A weak lobe of energy will track northeast across central Kentucky as we near the end of the weekend.  This will create partly to mostly cloudy skies across our proximity, along with a few isolated showers.  Colder air will filter into south central Kentucky as this weather maker pressure to our east.  Lingering moisture may produce a few light rain/snow showers on Sunday night, however, no impacts are expected.  The GFS Precip type model below is valid for 12pm Sunday, and shows light precip just north of the area:

High pressure will build in from the northwest on Monday morning, and it looks to hang around through Tuesday.  Northerly breezes will limit temps to the low – mid 40s through the start of the work week as a result.  Our next chance at precipitation will arrive on Tuesday night,a s another weak system progresses across our proximity.  I’ll dive into more details as we get closer to time.

That will wrap up the last post of the work week, folks.  Ryan Difani will be here this weekend to keep you up to speed on our ever-changing weather pattern.  Everyone have a fantastic end to your Friday.  Thanks for reading.
