A Few Clouds Today, Cooler Tomorrow

Today 2/23 – Partly Cloudy, Iso’d Showers – High 57˚ / Tonight – Partly Cloudy – Low 25˚

9am 49˚ ~ 12pm 57˚ ~ 3pm 56˚ ~ 6pm 46˚ ~ 9pm 39˚

Currently a slow moving cold front has settled its way into the Ohio Valley and currently sits directly across parts of our region. As a result we’ve got a few clouds around but overall skies remain partly to mostly sunny this morning.

The trend will be to see an increase in clouds through the day, especially this afternoon as a weak disturbance moves through. There could be a few areas of isolated showers. While not everyone sees rain, it will remain very light for those that do with totals remaining less than 0.10″.

You can see the current surface analysis below indicating the front in our region. Also note the area of cloudiness outlined over the Midwest which will move in this afternoon/evening.

The front will remain almost stationary which really will not allow the cooler air behind it to filter in until this afternoon/evening. As a result, temperatures should manage to climb into the mid to upper 50s; I image a few of us (especially further south) will flirt with 60 today.

Tonight the front will push completely through our region which will result in decreasing clouds allowing for clear skies by Monday morning. Colder air will be making its way in as well and temperatures will tumble into the mid 20s.

Mon – Sunny – High 45˚ / Mon Night – Mostly Clear – Low 24˚

Behind the front on Monday, high pressure will take control of our weather leaving us with little to talk about other than sunny skies. The sun may be a little deceiving however because it won’t warm to the mid 60s like it did Saturday. With a colder airmass in place, highs will only make it to the low to mid 40s.

Cooler temperatures, again!?…. What Chooo Talkin’ Bout Willis?

Overnight, a few clouds will manage to slip in but they will do little to keep temperatures from dropping. Temperatures will fall back into the mid 20s.

Tues – Partly Cloudy – High 49˚ / Tues Night – Mostly Cloudy, Iso’d Showers/Snow Showers – Low 18˚

A few clouds will roll in on Tuesday, enough so to call in partly cloudy. By afternoon/evening, clouds should increase as a weak disturbance and cold front moves through. During the evening hours and into overnight there could be a few isolated rain or snow showers in the area. Any precipitation should remain very light.

The real story Tuesday night is another shot of colder air which will makes its way in behind the front. Temperatures will plummet into the the upper teens overnight Tuesday. A sneak peak at Wednesday indicates highs that will struggle to break the freezing mark.

That puts a wrap on the weekend forecast. Meteorologist Landon Hampton will be back to guide you into the workweek tomorrow. As always, get the latest from @Wx_Or_Not and @WarrenCountyWx on twitter. Have a wonderful Sunday and thanks for reading.
